We Gotta Get Him Out of This Place

A revision of an old song, just in time for this year’s election, about getting a particularly bad politician out of our lives.

Verse 1:
In this dirty old swamp of a government,
With dark money, greasy as slime,
People tell us there ain’t no use in trying.

Oh little tree, you’re so young and pretty,
But one thing I know is true:
He’ll cut you down before your time is due.

See Mother Nature in our mountains, dying;
See our green hills turning brown.
His dirty dealing’s been bringing us all down.
He’s been dirty… dealing.
He’s been dirty… dealing.
He’s been dirty… dealing.
Dirty… dealing… dirty… dealing.

Chorus:
We gotta get him out of this place,
If it’s the last thing we ever do.
We gotta get him out of this place,
Girl, there’s a better life, for me and you.

Verse 2:
Oh little tree, you’re so young and pretty,
But one thing I know is true:
He’ll cut you down before your time is due.

See Mother Nature in our mountains, dying;
See our green hills turning brown.
His dirty dealing’s been bringing us all down.
He’s been dirty… dealing.
He’s been dirty… dealing.
He’s been dirty… dealing.
Dirty… dealing… dirty… dealing.

Chorus (twice)
