The Lord’s Prayer

Words from Matthew 6:9-13

Most 12-step meetings that I have attended have ended with this prayer. When I was looking for a musical arrangement of it to use for such occasions, I couldn’t find one that I liked exactly as it was, so I put this version together, influenced by a number of other versions, particularly the one by Ann Murray.

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts
As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil,

For Thine is the Kingdom,
And the Power and the Glory
Forever
A—-men…
(Oh, and one more thing…)
Keep coming back — it works.
