This is another one of those situations in which you really just had to be there. And for those who were, you probably know who you are…

Chorus 1:
Take this job and shove it,
I ain’t workin’ here no more.
You cut all the projects,
And took all the reasons that I’d been working for.
You better get all your red tape out of my way,
‘Cause I’m walking out the door.
Take this job and shove it,
I ain’t workin’ here no more.

Verse 1:
We’d been working on the CD-Next
For what seemed like a lot of years.
And just when we got most of it working,
Seems it only fed their fears.
So they told a lot of lies, and spread a lot of rumors,
Till they killed it dead one day.
They threw all our hard work down the drain,
And now maybe we should say:

Chorus 1

Verse 2:
We’ve got TeamTrack, and Q-docs, and IPRs,
The bureaucrats are calling all the shots.
Any time we try to do any work,
They’ve got us all tied in knots.
One of these days, maybe Miles is gonna notice,
And those suckers are gonna pay
I can’t wait to see their faces,
When he finally wakes up, to say:

Chorus 2:
I’m gonna take your job and shove it,
You ain’t workin’ here no more.
You screwed all the projects,
And blew all the reasons that you were working for.
You can take all your red tape out of this place,
As you’re walking out the door.
I’m gonna take your job and shove it,
You ain’t workin’ here no more.

End:
Take this job… and shove it.
