How About a Picture?

Now there's another option: In addition to the possibility of ordering a regular, high-quality print of any of my pictures, as I've made possible for some time (described below), you can now get any them printed on a mug (large or small), a T-shirt, or a mouse pad. To see an example of what this looks like, go to the Sky Pilot Photography "store" at Cafe Press. You'll see one of my pictures of Half Dome displayed on 2 different-sized mugs, a T-shirt, and a mouse pad. You can order any of these items, with the picture shown there, just by filling in the quantity (and size, for T-shirts) of any item you want to order and proceeding to their check-out page. If, on the other hand, you'd like to order an item there with a different picture on it, here's what to do: Since Cafe Press, at present, won't let me display more than one picture at a time for any item, I'll "custom-make" anything else you'd like to order (for the same prices as those shown). Just e-mail me, telling me which picture you'd like, and what item you'd like to see it on, and within a few days, I'll change the picture on that item to the one you want (and I'll let you know when it's there), so you can see what it looks like. Then, if you like it, you can order it by the same procedure; if not, it doesn't cost you a thing. Cafe Press has a convenient on-line ordering procedure (and they take credit cards) and a 30-day full-refund policy, if you're not satisfied for any reason. So check it out, let me know if you'd like to see any of the items with a different picture on it, and I'll try to make it as easy as possible for you to get just what you want.

What if you want a print? If, instead, you'd like a full-page, high-resolution print of any of my pictures, on high-quality paper, you can get that, too, for just five (5) U.S. dollars. Now, you might be wondering why you should bother to do that, when you can just print the images you see on my Web site. While that is certainly possible, you won't get nearly the same results. Why is that? Well, in order to minimize download time and the use of Web server space, all of the images presented here are very limited, in both resolution and color depth, and they are compressed in the JPEG format, which, while a very efficient compression method, is also a "lossy" one-- i.e., it does not contain as much detail as the original. In fact, every image file here is less than 100 KB in size. In contrast to this, an image scanned for full-page printer resolution is usually 5-6 MB in size, so you can see how much of a difference in detail we're talking about.

Here's how it works:Print out the form below, fill it out, and send it to me along with $5 for each picture you would like a print of. This is the only hard part of this process-- since I can't process credit-card transactions (no secure server, bank authorization setup, etc.), the only way to handle payments is by snail-mail. Be sure to specify the kind of paper to use, glossy or matte finish (I prefer matte myself for most pictures, but you can choose either one). Within a week or so after I get your order, you should get your print(s) back by return mail.

Money-back guarantee:If, for any reason, you don't like the print(s) you get, you can send it (or them) back for a refund (you don't have to tell me what your reason is, but I'd appreciate knowing what the problems are). In addition, if there are any repairable problems with the print(s) you get (for example, if the post office's experienced mail-manglers have gotten to the package, or if you'd like a lighter or darker exposure in a print), please let me know, and I'll send you a replacement
