Backpacking the Resurrection Pass Trail
These are some pictures from our four-day backpacking
trip, which covered the 41 miles of the Resurrection Pass Trail,
in the Chugach National Forest (Kenai Peninsula area). Pictures
2-6 and 12 (counting from the upper left) were taken by my wife,
Sallie, using a Nikon One-Touch Zoom and Kodak Elite film (ASA
200). I have just recently been alerted, BTW, by Debbie Carlson
of Cooper Landing (near the southern end of the trail), that the
Alaska Department of Transportation is considering building a
highway that would destroy the last four miles of this scenic
trail and turn Juneau Falls into a "drive-in" tourist attraction.
